Principal Charterhouse Pre-Primary

Welcome to Charterhouse Pre-Primary School, we are a busy but friendly school with lots going on. Our enquiry based curriculum is planned so that connections between subjects are made, ensuring that learning is contextual, relevant and fun. Creativity throughout the curriculum is paramount

Should you choose Charterhouse for your son or daughter you will be choosing a school committed to the all-round development of your child. We aim to have children who are happy and excited about coming to school. We have excellent teachers who share our vision of encouraging our children to develop their confidence, curiosity and a passion for learning.

I hope you will enjoy navigating your way around our website however nothing is better than a personal visit to our school so if you would like to see more we would be delighted to show you around.

Curriculum

Our children thrive in a nurturing, secure and stimulating environment. Small classes enable child-centred, engaging learning experiences.

A structured, daily programme involves teachers and children exploring the fundamentals of the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile and the National Curriculum.

Experienced, supportive teachers facilitate the vital connection between learning and play. Perceptual, practical, auditory, and fine and gross motor skills are non- negotiable learning and play activities – both in the classroom and on the playground.

Enjoyable, hands- on learning experiences inculcate a confident, enthusiastic, life-long love for learning.

The Charterhouse Pre-Primary child explores, experiences, plays, and masters the solid foundations for entry to ‘big school’.

Facilities and Extra Murals

We have well equipped classrooms set up to encourage conversation and collaboration. We have three open, welcoming playgrounds where each group can engage in fun and imaginative play.

We offer a wide range of private extra murals, for
example, Playball, Movement Education, Soccerstarz,
Pottery, Ballet, ‘Music, Song and Dance’ and Little Actors.

GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP

LEARNING PATH

Pre-Primary education helps a child develop emotional, social and personal growth. Through our enquiry based approach we enhance communication, self-management, research and thinking skills. We endeavour to create a growth mind-set within our children.

AT CHARTERHOUSE PRE - PRIMARY OUR CHILDREN LEARN TO BE

We investigate, research, explore, discover and imagine
while we learn.

02

A Thinker

We use creative thinking skills to gain facts and ideas.

03

A Communicator

We express ourselves creatively and confidently. We collaborate and listen effectively. We are learning about body language (non-verbal communication).

04

Warm Hearted

We listen to others, we take turns, we share, we do our part and we are aware of our own and other’s space and environment. We show empathy, compassion and respect.

05

Resilient

We bounce back after adversity. We practise failing well. We are learning to deal with disappointment, unmet expectations and change.

Future Minded

We are open-minded and appreciate our own cultures and history as well as the values of others.

07
